NOV 23 2201 - Fading in strong with synchro echo; woman and man in Italian. 2300 over unID; test tones, then off. NOV 25 2259 - Fair; usual sign-off with anthem. NOV 27 2300 - Good, over unID; usual sign-off with test tones. The strong Italy signal helps to block out interference. When Italy switches off, the signal that was underneath gets buried in adjacent channel interference. DEC 23 0007-0400 - Huge signal with test tones at about 30-second intervals, the same as normally heard at sign-off. 0031 re-check found music and telephone talk in Italian; variable s5 to s9 signal. Test tones could still be heard underneath, later found tones parallel 936, 1116, and 1143 kHz, continuing past 0400 UTC.
